The Bottle and Balloon

You will need:

  • A small bottle (one of the small plastic water bottles will do)

  • Baking soda (mom keeps it in the fridge-but ask first)

  • Vinegar

  • A small balloon

Here's what you do:

  1. Put a little vinegar (about a half a cup) into the bottle

  2. Fill the balloon with a few teaspoons of baking soda (you can do this through a funnel so you don't make a mess)

  3. Carefully roll the end of the balloon over the end of the bottle

  4. Finally...Turn the bottle upside down, so the vinegar goes into the balloon.

We all know that Science is both fun and informative.  However, did you know that science experiments are also really easy to do at home?  As long as you have an adult present and supervising at ALL times, then you can do these simple, yet effective experiments any time you like.  In fact, most of the items that you need for your experiments are inexpensive, and can be found in the house.

Below are some of the experiments included in the Crazy Science show

*Always make sure an adult is present and remember to wear safety goggles at all times.

Science Fun!

The Explosive bottle-A bit more complicated

You will need:

  • A plastic water bottle

  • Baking soda and Vinegar

  • A cork that fits snuggly in the bottle

Here's what you do:

Again, put the vinegar in the bottle, but this time wrap the baking soda in some tissue, so that you can quickly push it into the bottle.  As soon as you push it in, secure the cork on the bottle and stand back!!!
