Am-dram and beyond...
So let me introduce myself. My name is Chris Middlebrook and I was born in Sheffield, England.
I was always interested in the arts, and followed my parents on a journey into amateur operatics. For those of you who don't know what that means, it's performing in local shows, surrounded by an army of people (who like myself at the time) had never acted professionally.
Am Dram, as we affectionately called it, was my life when I was a teen. Going to rehearsals, producing an unnoficial comic "On Stage Weekly" and finally performing in various productions myself.
Fast forward a few years, and with my parents belief in me, I was able to enroll in a BTec in Performing Arts, and with help from my in-laws, a place at the prestigious Mountview Academy in London.
Before graduating, I was spotted by an agency, and auditioned for Andrew Llyod Webber's "Whistle Down the Wind". I was still in Drama school, had a baby on the way and was about to embark on a National Tour with my new family. The Am-dram life seemed a world away.
Years later, I would move to Tulsa Oklahoma, with my wife and 3 boys and finally form BAM Entertainment!
